The Republic Guarde is a volunteer service but is a in most cases a lifetime commitment. It is not exclusionary by race or gender but the individuals need to meet the same minimum requirements to serve. In almost all cases being a local police for an area is a required but other forms of learning basic combat and law prior to enlisting is acceptable.
